rouleur.pngI found this magazine the other day and it made me wish running had a similar magazine that focused on the raw imagery, emotion, and drama that is inherent in the sport of running.  This magazine aims to capture the essence of a sport so steeped in tradition and allure that it is hard for anyone to not want to go out and jump on a bike. Running shares a lot of the same traits as cycling; training, racing, solitude, glory, and defeat to name a few. Both sports have long traditions and allure over the human imagination. Both sports center around the pureness of racing and all of the emotion captured in that act. Originally I wanted fifteenhundred.com to be a web-zine of sorts that would attempt to do what Rouleur has done for cycling. Unfortunately I have neither the time nor the skill to make this a reality right now. Hence the fact that I am now using WordPress to publish instead of my own site. Even if you aren’t a cycling fan, the magazine is worth a look if you ever see it at a bookstore. Rouleur Magazine.

I apologize for the lack of updating that has occurred since I launched this site about a month ago. I have no prior experience with web development and my lack of skill finally got the best of me. My original desire was to try and create a site that was part blog and part website. I am not a big fan of the standard blog format and I wanted to find a way to do the same thing in a more visually intriguing way. However, managing the information and content of the site turned out to be much harder than I imagined. I spent most of my time experimenting with potential layouts that would be both easy to use and well designed. In turn I ended up spending all my time designing rather than writing or adding any content for whoever it is that reads this. I am going to begin posting through a WordPress blog for the remainder of the summer or until I can learn how to create a more exciting web environment that is up to my standards.
